The Community Equipment service ensures that specialist equipment prescribed by Occupational Therapists is delivered and maintained safely and efficiently. Assessments are carried out by Community Occupational Therapists for both adults and children who have disabilities and require specialist equipment to help them to live at home, access education and maintain their independence. These assessments and interventions significantly reduce hospital admissions.
We also provide this service to customers who live outside Blackpool but whose GP is based in Blackpool.
Some equipment such as Adjustable High Back Chairs, Bath lifts and Paediatric Equipment can be recycled if it is still in good condition. If you have equipment that is no longer required, please contact the service to confirm whether it can be recycled and arrange collection.
